Sam Redmore made 2022 his own, serving up slice after slice of eclectic funky goodness from his debut album Universal Vibrations, a release packed full of quality global grooves that can light up any dancefloor, carnival or party.
After garnering early support for his remixes from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Quantic, Nightmares On Wax, The Nextmen, Lauren Laverne, Danny Krivit and Craig Charles, Sam built a name for crafting soul-drenched remixes of the classics, with his army of fans eagerly awaiting every new re-work.
Signing to Jalapeno Records for his debut album of original material, Sam has kept the eclectic tastes of all his fans satisfied with a series of very different singles showcasing the wide range of styles he is known for - all picking up rave reviews and a very wide spread of radio support including Radio 1 / 6 Music (over 50 plays on the album so far) / Radio 2 / Jazz FM (Album of The Week) / Worldwide FM as well as hitting Number 1 most added on the US college radio charts (world) and getting over 30 spins so far on the influential LA station KCRW.
Sam says “Jazzdance was the track that kicked it all off in terms of making original material. The drums you hear at the start make up the first loop I put together that would eventually develop into a full track of my own. Finished before much of the album, it’s been a secret weapon in my DJ sets over the last few years and something I’ve always loved hearing over a beefy sound system”.
Jazzdance is the final release from the Universal Vibrations album recordings.
2023 sees Sam in full recording mode for his second album with one of the new tracks already confirmed to be the theme tune for fellow brummie Joe Lycett’s TV show.
