Smoove & Turrell [LIVE]
The legends of Northern Funk return with their full band setup. 2020 saw the release of their 6th studio album Stratos Bleu – a slightly different direction for the boys taking influences from their infamous DJ sets where they fuse northern soul with funk and electronica.
The production is a marriage of everything that they grew up on fused with elements of modern music, taking influences from Chicago House to Massive Attack, Inner City to Kruder & Dorfmeister but with the distinctive drum-heavy dancefloor production Smoove is famous for. Expect an eclectic set with bangers throughout.
The Allergies [LIVE]
It's been a quiet year for some but not for these two. In the summer of 2020, these funk maestros released their hit-single 'Felony' and took to the airwaves with huge support BBC 6 Music along the way. Massive collaborations with The Cuban Brothers, Dr Syntax and Dynamite MC followed and ensured that the release of their 'Say the Word' album was a stormer.
With the follow-up album due this autumn 2021, expect to hear some brand new cuts as well as the old favourites as they bring their live band to Brighton for this show featuring Ugly Duckling MC Andy Cooper and soul sensation Marietta Smith on vocals.
