Flevans aka Nigel Evans is a multi-instrumentalist, DJ and producer based in Brighton, UK, with an eclectic yet accessible style that straddles the genres of funk, breaks, soul and electronica.

The young Flevans rolled into Brighton in the early noughties with nothing to his name but a demo tape, which would find its way to the guys at Tru Thoughts who went on to release a string of EPs alongside label mates Bonobo and Quantic.  His first three 12” releases on the label sold out in record time and the debut LP “Make New Friends” received serious critical acclaim in 2004.  He then went on to release second LP “Unfabulous” before being snapped up to join the Steve Lamacq championed downtempo band Backini for a nationwide tour that included Glastonbury and The Big Chill and live BBC sessions at Abbey Road and Maida Vale.  Flevans’ returned to his own creations soon after with his third studio album “27 Devils” providing a true musical masterclass as Flevans played keys, bass, guitars, percussion across as stomper of a record.

2016 saw the release of “A Distant View” on LOA Records, a return to the uplifting funk and soul rhythms and hooks that made Flevans’ name. 2018 saw him join his spiritual home of Jalapeno Records and releasing his ‘Part Time Millionaire’ and “Accumulate” albums in consecutive years earning widespread press and radio coverage worldwide. It’s a wonderfully prolific and funky career that shows no sign of slowing down.
